A paper is available now on the next-generation countermeasure architecture concept for defeating person-borne improvised explosive devices in crowds. The paper was presented at the 2009 IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security on May 11, 2009 in Waltham, Massachusetts. The paper describes the countermeasures and enabling technologies that comprise an integrated system to addresses the challenges of screening unstructured crowds. It also describes the role of industry and government stakeholders in advancing the architecture in an iterative process.
